Pruning willow structures

It is nearly time, but do hold back from pruning your willow structures just yet. Firstly because they will soon look beautiful as they loose their leaves and enter their dormant stage, and secondly because you must wait for the sap to ‘fall’. It is at this point -November until March – that cutting the plant back will have least impact on the plant, but maximum benefit for the Forest School professional behind the secateurs.
