I have loved my Forest School training. It has really made me think and I have thoroughly enjoyed writing the assignments and the research involved. I have done so many things I have never done before. Although I was initially apprehensive Shane soon put me at my ease and before I knew it I was using tools to make spinning tops, pegs, putting shelters up and lighting fires and learning so much. Shane is so knowledgeable and really supportive. I have learned so many new skills and I am excited for where my Forest School journey goes next. Thank you.

What a fantastic course with an inspirational leader in Shane. I have learnt so much but more importantly feel confident and assured that I now have the knowledge to run my own sessions. A very comprehensive and fun packed 5 day course.

I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the FS Level 3 course. The five practical days were educational and fun. Shane is a great tutor who will answer all your questions and give ideas to improve your setting. He was relaxed and easy going during the course and my observation. He also supported me through the written work. 10/10, highly recommend!

Over the years I have been on various skills set training - none have changed me quite so much as this Forest School Lead training. The trainer (Shane) was knowledgeable, personable, empowering, exciting, relatable with a warm in his manner to all. All backed up by his endless knowledge of nature, Forest School, Woodlands and experiences within the 'real world' and yet still able to make it work makes the training even more relevant. We have all been on training before but in the realms of a busy school day we know there will never be any time nor will it happen. This - absolutely not - the training so powerful, the principles of Forest School so strong, the need for child lead play so great my school are won over and are able to offer half term to every child in the school for a whole afternoon each week of that half term. It's a start but what a fabulous start!
The setting, in an actual Forest School, and at times, within lessons from the school was golden. For me to be able to take back to my school and setting, with real insight in what a Forest School should look like and how it runs was something standard training does not offer. With honest from our trainer who still teaches Forest School!
We also went to a different woodland, which was local and another Forest School setting at Gloucester Uni and provided wonderful learning opportunities.
The tools, access to Kelly kettles, fire starting equipment, den making equipment was immense. To have time to become familiar and confident with a variety of, new for me, tools and equipment was important as I needed to be comfortable before I can confidently share these new skills with children within Forest School lessons.
The resources shared online weaves through the whole FS Training journey and is very informative.
A huge thank you to Shane and all the staff at Churchdown School and all at Inspired Forest School.
I love how my school has benefited from what we are doing in our outside learning now and can not wait for real Forest School to start when I complete the course.
My teenagers at home are also delighted with fungi hunting this autumn and the continued excitement about Mycelium.

I completed my Level 3 FS training with Shane. What a fabulous experience!! Inspired Forest School is aptly named - Shane is such an inspiring person. His knowledge of FS in Sweden is fascinating and I learned so much from both his practical days and when completing the coursework and doing the reading. I now feel very passionately about Forest School and am grateful to Shane and Mark for providing this opportunity that will shape my career for the rest of my life.
I also met some excellent people who I can collaborate with as a community, which is so helpful and makes doing the course really friendly and fun.
I have already booked onto the next course with Shane - Willow Dome in a Day - and am really looking forward to it!
Thank you again Shane and Mark!
